The events will be held at
Elwell Hall (N 43.67645, W 70.20300) on Great Diamond
Island in Casco Bay. But you won't be able to drive there
without an amphibious vehicle. Instead you must take a
Casco Bay Lines
ferry to Great Diamond Island. Casco Bay Lines
(N 43.65683, W 70.24875) has full directions
HERE, and for a MapQuest map of Casco Bay Lines'
location go
HERE. This ferry DOES NOT take cars. That is, the boat
will carry people, dogs, bikes, and freight only. This means
you should show up 30 minutes before the boat leaves
so you can find parking. All boat tickets are round trip and
cost ($7.25) for Adults, ($3.60) for children,
seniors, and the handicapped, and ($23.25) for a 5
ticket commuter book that can be shared with family members.
For more information on rates you can go to the Casco Bay
Lines
Rates and Fares page. The schedule can be found
HERE.
You can use this schedule to find departure times from
Great Diamond, where the latest is at 11:00pm. Remember you
MUST make the 3:15pm ferry to arrive on time.
In the case where people miss the 3:15pm ferry we will have a
water taxi standing by. Conversely, if the departure
schedule does not meet your needs you can also take a water
taxi off by contacting Captain Gene Willard at
207-415-8493.
Parking
Parking can be somewhat of a problem in the summer. To make
matters worse there is another HUGE wedding on the island
the same day,
and that is just Great Diamond. So, to give our guests a
heads up on parking we have compiled a list of our "secret"
spots in the old port.
|
|
This lot costs money and is most likely FULL. It is
clearly the most convenient, but also costs the most
money. For maps of each location click the respective
links.
|
|
|
This is the next lot you will want to consider if you
are willing to pay for parking. It is very close if
there is room in the primary lot, which is right next
to the office. This lot is not as expensive as the
one at Casco Bay Lines, but there is also a chance you
will need to park further away.

|
|
This is FREE street parking that is about 10 minutes
walk from the Casco Bay Lines Terminal. You can
park all along this line of cars where permitted. The
problem here is that this is the best free parking for
the islands. That means you will hardly ever find a
spot in the summer.
|
|
|
Again this is FREE street parking that is about a 15
minute walk from the ferry terminal. These spots can
also become very full in the summer. If you are
going to be lugging stuff, you should consider dropping
someone off with the stuff at the terminal.
|
|
|
This is also FREE street parking, but it is no fun to
walk to or from this spot unless you like walking.
You should be parked here about 20 minutes before the
ferry is going to leave.
|
|
|
Free parking that should be a LAST resort, since the
residents don't like the spill over. Again this is a
20 minute walk from the terminal.
|
|
|
Again, LAST resort. This is basically the same distance
as above, and about a 20 minute walk. You will most
certainly find a place here, but figure on spending
time checking the other spots and then parking here.
This is why we say you should plan to be there 30
minutes early (2:45).
|
|
|
This too is a FREE spot that is about 15 minutes from
the terminal. The neighbor"hood" isn't that nice, but
we have never had problems here. ONLY park here if you
have a working emergency break or a standard
transmission with a bad battery, as it is on a steep
hill. (hence the name Mountfort)
|
|
|
Last but not least is the street parking next to The
Shipyard Brewing Company. We suggest checking this
spot if you can't find a spot at the beginning of
Fore Street. The only problem here is that it stinks
of barley. This is about a 15 minute walk to the
terminal.
